He Toa Takitini 2.O
With support from Te Māngai Pāho, Te Auaha and the Wellington City Council Minaaka Music invites you to join us as we celebrate Māori language music.
He Toa Takitini is FREE ENTRY and will run over the duration of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori with one showcase concert per day. Featuring local artists Kirsten Te Rito, Maaka, IWI, Taki Toru, Awerangi & WAI, Special MC, featured guests and more. The showcase is a mix of Māori-style Soul, R & B, Hip Hop, Reggae, Electronica and Jazz illustrating how the Māori language is versatile across all genres of music. Also featuring NEW Minaaka Music releases throughout the week. Each showcase will feature two Māori language artists and will be 1 hour long. Māori music helps keep the language alive.
