Join us for this special event to commemorate 50 years since the presentation of the Māori Language Petition. Enjoy a walkthrough of highlights from our collection, from the presentation of the petition in 1972 to key moments in the revitalisation of te reo Māori. Professor Rawinia Higgins, the Māori Language Commissioner, will then reflect on these past 50 years. Ngā Taonga is delighted to be collaborating with Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori and Te Mātāwai on this event.

Note that this event will be presented entirely in te reo Māori.
