This stunning painting by artist Regan Balzer (Te Arawa, Ngāti Ranginui, Raukawa, Maniapoto, Scottish, Irish) was created live during a performance of Te Pae which premiered at the 2022 Te Hui Ahurei Reo Māori o te Whanganui-a-Tara. Performed by artists Troy Kingi, Horomona Horo, Regan Balzer, Dr Jeremy Mayall, Ria Hall and Kurahapainga Te Ua, it explored the energies within the spaces of Nuku, Rangi and Ātea and took the audience on a multi-sensory journey through life, interconnectedness, creation, resilience, healing, and growth.
